Witness Sought in Connection With Weekend Terrace Stabbing

Terrace RCMP are asking a potential witness to contact them, in connection with a weekend stabbing that left a Terrace woman dead.

RCMP say they're looking for a First Nations woman in her 20s who was at the scene prior to the arrival of police.   They stress she is not a suspect, but may be able to help police piece together the chain of events leading up to the death of the 46-year-old woman.

The victim was found in the 46-hundred block of Haugland Avenue, suffering from multiple stab wounds.   She was rushed to hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Police are recommending a charge of second degree murder be laid against a youth who is in custody.   He's to appear in Provincial Court in Terrace Tuesday morning.
