Hearing Set for Former Teacher
A former Prince Rupert science teacher accused of sex offences against students will face a preliminary hearing starting November 5th.
Lawyers for Dana Monteith and the Crown appeared in provincial court in Prince Rupert yesterday to say they are ready to proceed.
Monteith is charged with two counts of sexual exploitation of a young person.
The Crown alleges he had relationships with current and former students between June 2005 and July 2007.
The Prince Rupert School Board fired Monteith earlier this month.
He was suspended without pay from his job at Charles Hays Secondary after the charges were laid last December.
